How to protect your whole Shopify catalog at once

Protecting images one product at a time does not scale. Here is how to watermark an entire Shopify catalog in bulk and keep new uploads covered automatically.

If you have more than a handful of products, protecting images one at a time is not realistic, and the gaps are exactly where theft happens. The goal is full coverage with as little manual work as possible. Here is how to protect an entire Shopify catalog in bulk, and keep it protected as it grows.

Why bulk coverage matters

Image theft does not politely target only your protected products. Automated tools can scrape or clone a whole catalog at once, as covered in catalog scraping and cloned storefronts. If only your top sellers are protected, every other product is an open door, and a copycat will happily take the rest. Full coverage removes the gaps.

Step 1: Protect everything in one pass

In Tilkie, choose to protect your full catalog rather than individual products. Tilkie applies an invisible watermark across every image in a single bulk run. There is nothing to design and nothing to place; the mark is embedded in the pixels, so the images look unchanged to shoppers.

Tilkie checks whether an image is already protected before processing it, so a bulk run does not re-process work that is already done, and repeated runs stay fast and clean.

Step 2: Protect by collection when you want control

If you would rather roll out in stages, or treat parts of your catalog differently, protect by collection. This lets you cover a category at a time, which is useful for large stores or for prioritizing your most-copied lines first.

Step 3: Turn on Auto-Protect for new products

A catalog is not static. New products and new photos are added constantly, and each one is unprotected until something covers it. Auto-Protect watermarks new images automatically the moment they are added, so growing your catalog does not grow your exposure. Set it once and new uploads are covered without anyone remembering to run a job. Auto-Protect is on the Pro plan.

Step 4: Know it is reversible

Bulk protection sounds drastic, but it is non-destructive. Tilkie preserves your original images, so you can revert any product, or your whole catalog, at any time. If you downgrade your plan, images above your new limit are restored to their originals rather than breaking.

The result

In a few clicks, your entire catalog carries proof of ownership, new products stay covered automatically, and your customers never see a difference. When a copy of any product turns up, you detect your mark and generate a Chain of Proof certificate, the same as you would for a single image.
